Install OpenALaCarte

Runs full-screen, launches from your home screen, works offline, gets push notifications. No app store needed.

iPhone & iPad (Safari)

    Tap the Share button at the bottom of Safari.

    Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen .
  3. 3
    Tap Add. The OpenALaCarte icon now sits next to your other apps.

Safari only — Chrome / Firefox on iOS can't install web apps (Apple restriction).

Android (Chrome, Edge, Samsung Internet)

    Tap the ⋮ menu in the top-right of Chrome.

    Tap Install app (or Add to Home Screen on older versions).
  3. 3
    Tap Install. The app launches like any other Android app.

When supported, Chrome may also pop a banner at the bottom prompting you to install — accept it for the one-tap path.

Desktop (Chrome, Edge, Brave)

    Click the install icon in the address bar (looks like a screen with a down-arrow).

    Click Install. OpenALaCarte opens in its own window with no browser chrome.

Safari + Firefox on desktop don't support PWA installation — open OpenALaCarte in Chrome / Edge / Brave to install.

Why install?

  • Faster: bypasses browser tabs, opens instantly.
  • Offline-ready: a menu you've already opened still works without signal. At venues that don't take payment up front, a table order placed offline is saved on your phone and sent once you're back online with the page open.
  • Push notifications: new bookings + orders alert you immediately.
